Hinckley worked in Barnstable. This piece has a pointed-end handle with a 9-lobe shell drop and with brightcutting half way down the handle. Mono is block A * B in a cartouche on the front. Length is 5-3/8". Condition is fine.

This pair of coin silver tongs are 6 5/8" long, 1 3/4" wide at the arch, and 7/8" across at the top. They weigh a substantial 2.2 T. oz. The makers stamp is "Motts," for W. and J. Mott of New York, who Ensko dates as 1789. He notes they "issued the first trademan's tokens in the United States." This pair have sculpted arms, and cupped, shell-shaped grips. William Jones died in 1730, so this spoon has to be among the earliest Hanoverians made in the Colonies. It has a prominent front rib and a long tapering rattail (see pic). It is marked W barred I on both the handle and in the bowl (see pix of both marks). The mono is a shaded block B over W S on reverse. A rare and early example of Exeter silver - Pentecost Symonds, Exeter, ca. 1720. Hanoverian handle, rattail-back bowl. Measures a little over 13". Some of the marks worn but maker's mark and lion mark clear. Condition is good, but original monogram removed and gussied-up later mono added. Shipping and insurance $8.00.

Fine pair of coin silver teaspoons by Edward Lang (1742-1830) of Salem, Massachusetts, who worked as a silversmith from 1768 to 1793 when he became a schoolmaster. These spoons have a downturned spatulate handle with tipt back. This form and the block monogram would indicate a date about 1780. There is a nice rounded drop and a nine-lobed shell in particularly good condition. American coin silver teaspoon made in Philadelphia by John David, Jr., c. 1780. It bears the mark illustrated on page 131 of Marks of American Silversmiths in the Ineson-Bissell Collection by Louise Conway Belden. The spoon has a block monogram "M B". The bowl has three fixable dings. It has a nice modeled drop and a somewhat worn shell. Length is 4 5/8 inches.
