Pair Coin Silver Tablespons by W. Bessac, Hudson, NY
Silver: Coin Silver: Flatware: Fiddle-Handled
North Hill Antiques
371 $75 each
Very early fiddle pattern, c1815 -- no shoulders -- incised pointed arch drop -- shaded script mono J P V on front of handle -- a lengthy 9-1/2" and good solid weight. Very slight tipwear, otherwise excellent.
NOTE: Darling lists an H.W. Bessac, but then shows exactly the same mark as here -- no H -- just plain W. Bessac. We conclude that somewhere along the way, Darling or someone else erred.
