Here is a very fine early Georgian mug in exceptional condition. It has a wonderful patina and is free of any dents, repairs or any form of mishandling. In fact, it appears to have been treasured all its 271 years. It was made in London in 1736 by John or Joseph Clare. It has a magnificent coat of arms belonging to Rev. Edmond Hopper Carlis and the motto below it translates to:
"A subject faithful to the King and the safety of the Kingdom"

Hand-raised pap boat from Boston

Made by Haddock, Lincoln & Foss, c1850 - typical boat form with reeded band applied at rim; script presentation at rear: ERC/from/SCS; 4-1/2" long x 2-3/4" wide. Condition is excellent throughout, including the planishing marks inside. This is a fine replication of a classic 18thC form.

Oval form, 13-1/2" x 8-3/4", with applied twisted "rope" bands at rim and pedestal base, with rope handles at either end (see pic). This piece was never engraved and is in near-mint condition; it weighs 17 Troy oz. The date it was made is cited in the usual Gale signature; it is also marked "Sterling," an affectation of the mid-19thC, as there were no assay offices int he U.S. until about 1865.

A wonderful piece of Southern coin. It is an all-silver 6-lobed construction on a circular silver base. It is monogramed though I cannot decipher the other letters behind the M. A slight ding on the base is the only flaw.

This absolutely fabulous little nickel plate soup tureen is made by Gorham Silver. It is fully marked on the bottom. In procession there is GM Co.(Gorham Manufacturing Co.), a box with an anchor inside, and E F under it, 2096 with 7 then TF under that. On the lower right there is a horseshoe (see enlargement 1). This beautiful rollover dish was made by F.B. Rogers. It is silverplate, pattern 273. The dome has "petal" shapes that radiate from the top about 1/4 of the way down the spherical dome. The remainder of the dome is plain. It attaches at the middle to a 3 legged base. The legs of the base are in the shape of lions heads! They curve down to a claw foot. Here is a very good specimen of a highly collectible article. In very good condition, still has the sterling band to secure the muslin sieve. Contemporary initials and good marks.
Made by the partnership of Rebecca Emes and Edward Barnard. Rebecca Emes was the widow of the noted silversmith John Emes (d.1808) and Edward Barnard was his former manager, who went on to found the Barnard dynasty of silversmiths.

Here is a fairly early coin pap boat or invalid feeder by S. Kirk, during his solo period, c.1830-46.
This is a rare article made during a pretty rare period for Kirk, not a lot turns up before 1846. In very good condition, just one ding. Very good patina.

John Kitts, Louisville, Kentucky, spent most of his working life, 1836-78, in various notable partnerships such as Kitts & Werne, Kitts & Stoy, John Kitts & Co, etc. It was during one of his solo periods that he produced this fine engraved, octagonal cup. Engraved on the front with a contemporary inscription "Caroline L Gaze 1846" and beneath it a later one "Henry Hoyt Hobbs 1925". Very good condition, just a couple of minor dings.
Dimensions: 3" high, 2.5" across faces.

This lovely example of a victorian or art nouveau sweetmeat basket is in silverplate by a company named Veldon. It has very nice scroll open work and is in great condition, although there is a minute bit of corrosion (which the price reflects). It measures 3 1/2 in. It was used in victorian times to hold little confections on a elaborately laid out dessert table. Circa late 1800's. Enjoy!

This baby cup is 3 1/2" tall with a diameter of 2 3/4". It is in excellent condition with a few small dents and no repairs. On the inside the handle at the top has been slightly pushed in. It retains it's original gold wash in the inside. It is engraved "Mary Crittenden Dana 1861" and is marked with the Gorham mark, "56" and "coin".
