Coin silver cake basket, Bailey & Co., Philadelphia (c. 1850), 13" long, 10" wide on oval pedestal base (6-1/8" x 4-1/2"), heavy cast pierced swing handle with script monogram "Pinckard" in small cartouche in center of handle, decorative band around rim of basket, marked under basket on one end "BAILEY & CO." over "CHESTNUT ST PHILA" in an incuse oval with "136" incuse inside and on other end with three pseudo marks (anvil, bust and eagle).

This is a copy of the original by John Dixwell of Boston, who died in 1725 at age 45. Original is in the Metropolitan Museum of Art (see pix of inscriptions on bottom of cup). This piece was made in the 1940s. It is 3-1/4" high x 2-7/8" diameter at flared rim. Weight is a solid 6 T oz. It has an S-scroll reeded strap handle and a reeded band at the base. It is engraved Alana June in script on the front. Condition is excellent throughout.

One appears to be marked with a single letter on the bottom but I can't read it. Applied top and base rims with fine beading. Height 3-1/2". Mouth diameter 3". Base diameter 2-1/2". Weight of the pair is 6.65 troy ounces. The script monogram is EFGS on both pieces. Overall condition is excellent.

Three piece tea set by Jones, Ball & Poor of Boston, ca. 1846-52. Cast finials in the form of a flower. Very nice form. The base of the tea pot and creamer have old repairs, probably with lead, that have been covered with silver plate. These do show upon close inspection, but are not immediately noticeable. The set otherwise is in excellent condition. No engraving.
