Oval form, 13-1/2" x 8-3/4", with applied twisted "rope" bands at rim and pedestal base, with rope handles at either end (see pic). This piece was never engraved and is in near-mint condition; it weighs 17 Troy oz. The date it was made is cited in the usual Gale signature; it is also marked "Sterling," an affectation of the mid-19thC, as there were no assay offices in the U.S. until about 1865.

Not literally a pair (different makers) but virtually identical. One is Continental and the other English. Length 1-5/8"; width 1-1/8"; height 1-1/2". Weight of 2 is a little under 2 troy ounces. No monogram. Overall condition is excellent; mark condition is very good.

This baby cup is 3 1/2" tall with a diameter of 2 3/4". It is in excellent condition with a few small dents and no repairs. On the inside the handle at the top has been slightly pushed in. It retains it's original gold wash in the inside. It is engraved "Mary Crittenden Dana 1861" and is marked with the Gorham mark, "56" and "coin".

Rare coin silver teapot stand, John Wolf Forbes, New York City (c. 1800-1810), 6-5/8" long by 5-1/8" wide by 1" tall, strepped rim, on four teardrop shaped feet, marked "I.W.FORBES" in rectangular punch three times under rim (mark (c) in Belden) with sheaf of wheat pseudo marks.

Marked I.W.TUCKER/SANFRANCISCO.CAL, name and location each in a rectangle. Octagonal, double-scroll handle, engine-turned design with large reserve on the front. Applied molded rim top and base. Height of handle 3-13/16"; of body 3-1/4". Diameter of mouth 2-5/8"; of base 2-7/8". Weight 4-1/4 troy ounces. There is a script monogram M.C. on the front in a reserve. Mark condition is good; overall condition is also good (many minor dents in body).

This WM. Rogers silver serving dish is in very nice condition, there are a couple of blemish marks on the serving bowl. It is numbered 2347 on the bottom and is decorated with the Country Lane flower pattern. Circa 1954.

Marked three times on bottom. This distinctive J:B mark is attributed tentatively by Yale to J. Bard of PA. J.Bard of Philadelphia, c.1800, is listed in books by Thorn, Okie, and Ensko, but no mark is illustrated. Acquired from a source that says it came from a family that also had a Baltimore beaker. Let's stop right there. I don't for a moment believe that this item was made in Boston. Most everything about it: the floral four toed feet, chased foliage with "ring matted" background (see Forbes, plate 41), silversmith's center punch on the top (see fourth photo), the overall heft and construction suggest that it was made in Canton province.
