This sterling silver coffee spoon is 4 1/8" long and solid weight. It incorporates the traditional Irish Claddagh image of a crowned heart and two hands. The markings are those for Dublin, 1962, with the maker's imprint "N.B" in a rectangle. It is also stamped "Made in Irish Republic." Online references indicate this term was used only 1919-22, but obviously it survived, or survives, as an appellation. The condition is outstanding. This is a large English hallmarked sterling silver souvenir spoon from Birmingham, England with the hallmarks for Birmingham, 1905 and the maked L and S whom I can't identify. The large sterling silver spoon measures 5.75 inches long. The curved finial is a hand saw pierced crest of the City of Birmingham and the bowl has the embossed Town Hall of Birmingham in the bowl with an embossed foliage border.
