Pair of sterling servers by Georg Jensen, c.1924/6
click for details
According to Janet Drucker's book on Jensen, these servers are designated Pattern #72. They don't appear to have a name which should not do them any discredit as they are very elegant and graceful. They were evidently made for the British market as they both bear the British import marks for the year they were made. Early, pre-WWII, Jensen articles are becoming scarcer and acquiring an increasing premium on their price. Dimensions: Length 7", width 1.75" and 2.75".

JC Klinkosch, Vienna, Dramatic Art Deco Sterling Fork
click for details
This dinner fork is a dramatic example of early 20th century art deco design, as it evolved in Continental Europe. It stamped "Made in Austria," "Sterling," "Ges. Gesch.," and has a triangle with "JCK 935" in it. Presumably the 935 is the silver standard, which would make it slightly higher than sterling. The mark is that of J.C. Klinkosch, Vienna. The firm executed designs by Otto Wagner and Otto Prutscher in the first quarter of the 20th century. The scale of this is extravagant. It is 8... Click for details

This silver scoop is 4 5/8" long. It is clearly Continental silver. It has various marks, as shown in the images. These include a 930, which may be the silver standard. Other stamps appear to be English, so the piece may have been remarked for the UK domestic market. It is a charming item that has a cast handle that is rococo in style. The shank has scrolls and roses. The top of the handle features a knight with a sword and shield. Below him is a winged serpent or dolphin. The bowl is d... Click for details

This sterling silver coffee spoon is 5 1/4" long. It bears clear place and date marks for London, 1816, and maker's stamp of SB/IB, for Sarah and John Blake. It is an appealing, well-made piece, with a reverse tip and exposed drop. There is a period style "E.B" monogram. The condition is outstanding, with one caveat. There is a crimp in the metal just above the monogram. It shows on both sides, and results in a shallow line crack on the front.

This sterling silver asparagus fork is in Gorham's 1890 Chippendale pattern. This is a stylized beaded design that is more Chippendale inspired, and innovative, than slavishly imitative. It is a large piece, 9" long, with a four tine serving area that is 4" x 3". It is heavy, weighing approximately 3.3 T. oz. The condition is outstanding. It retains sharp detail and has a fine finish. There appears to have been a monogram removal, but this is very subtle, nearly imperceptible actually. It ... Click for details
