3 Whiting ALHAMBRA gumbo soup spoons
Silver: Sterling: Flatware
Bruce Cherner Antique Silver
1090 SOLD
7 7/8 inches long, fine condition if a bit too bright for my taste, monogrammed "MHW", obverse and "1938" reverse, marked M.W. Galt and Sterling. One thing is worth noting: these are made in two sections and the bowl seamed to the handle. It is possible that this piece was not part of the original production and was a special order ... Click for details

Early Irish Fish Server, Dublin 1764.
Silver: Coin Silver: Flatware: 18th Century
Albion Antiques Ltd
KG2M76 SOLD
This is a magnificent and very rare fish server. The triangular blade is pierced with scrolls and floral motifs. The long robust handle bears a crest of a boar on a coronet. Fully and clearly hallmarked on the underside for Dublin 1764 and a maker's mark of ID in an oval.
This form did, however, have its problems due to age and over-piercing. Splits did occur across the narrow strips of metal. This slice has two small splits about 0.125" long and two old repaired splits about the same size. Th... Click for details

George II sterling marrow scoop, London 1739
Silver: Coin Silver: Flatware: 18th Century
Albion Antiques Ltd
KG2M98 $ 495
Quite an early, robust marrow scoop with crisp clear hallmarks, for London 1739, maker John Jacob. The earlier scoops did tend to be heavier but, due to age, did suffer from rubbed, illegible hallmarks. That is what is so exciting, if one could find marrow scoops exciting, about this example. It has all the features you desire: good age, good gauge, good marks. Dimensions: 8.75" long. 2 Troy.oz.
