This is a rare pair of English hallmarked sterling silver sugar, ice or dessert tongs made in 1844 by JS&S Sheffield, England. The tongs measure 6.5 inches long and have rare 3 dimensional claw foot ends with incredible detail and including a very rare inside toe or claw for gripping. This lovely little cut crystal and English sterling silver floral repousse dresser jar is just darling. It measures 3 in. tall, and 3 in. wide. It has a cartouche or shield in the middle of the lid that would be perfect for engraving initials or a monogram. The flowers appear to be roses and daisies, and the lid is marked sterling and numbered 2560 with a mark that I cannot make out.
