This 5 7/8" long, approximately .9 T. oz., teaspoon is an example from Wallace's early 20th century series that features zodiac signs and flowers from each of the twelve months of the year.

The month represented is "December" as appears on the lower portion of the handle, and the corresponding sign and flower are "Capricorn(us)" and "Holly."

Adapted from a 4 1/4" long, just over .3 T. oz., coffee or demitasse spoon in Gorham's "Colonial," this spoon has an acid etched handle and bowl.

The work is very much in an Aesthetic manner, which is consistent with the 1885 date of the pattern.

The handle reads "Atlantic City," while the bowl portrays a fish, in the japonesque style of such other Gorham designs as "Hizen" and "Narragansett" of the same period.

Larger than most examples of this piece, measuring 5 7/8" long and weighing an exceptionally heavy 1.7 T. oz., this circa 1895 spoon was made by Watson, whose pennant emblem and the word "Sterling" are imprinted on the reverse.

A souvenir item, the handle portrays a standing miner wearing boots and a hat, holding a chunk of ore in his left hand and with his right hand leaning on a crow bar or such.
