Ive grouped these two pretty hankies together because both have scalloped hems, both have roses, and both have gold paint accents/trim! The white background hanky measures 13 Ό x 13 Ό, the gray background hanky measures 13 ½ x 13 ½ both are in excellent condition.
Extra large size lined gloves are brown, satiny alligator-look material. Label reads: '50% nylon 50% cotton, WPL 8931, Made in British Crown Colony of Hong Kong, XL.' Gloves are a little over 10" long with 3" middle finger. Clean and in very good condition. Postage is $2.
Handmade tatting is used to decorate this set of three tea towels. Two are matching 18" x 11 1/2" Cannon towels and tatted flower motifs were appliqued to towel. The third is a handmade towel measuring 19 1/2" x 14" with a strip of tatting sewn to the hem and crewel-type embroidery of two flowers just above. Set of three peach-colored tea towels each measure 18 1/2" x 13" and are hand embroidered in red, blue, yellow and green. In very good condition but one has a small yellowish spot near the hem. Very nice set of four off-white linen look placemats and napkins with with light sage/celery machine stitched edges. Placemats measure 17" x 11 1/2" and have two rows of machine chain stitch in metallic thread. Napkins are 11 1/4" square. Set is in very good condition with no stains. The only mark is a faint '2.00' on one placemat hand written in off-white.... Click for details

These tea towels are truly amazing examples several forms of handiwork - hand applique, drawn threadwork and fine embroidery. Everything is done by hand except three side are hemmed by machine using very fine stitches. The hanky color is pale (mint) green and the scalloped edge is machine stitched in pink. Three corners have a slightly larger embroidered rose stem with 2 buds and there are small single embroidered rose buds along the edge. The largest rose is gorgeous! This monogram hanky is somewhat unusual in design and the monogram is a part of the design! Hanky has the original Herrmann tag. As with all my linens, hanky has been laundered, lightly starched and ironed. I carefully removed the tag and replaced after ironing.
