I cannot tell you the age of this Lamp. It belonged to my Dad who purchased it at a yard sale, but I can remember it as far back as 1966. The Locomotive is solid heave metal of some type, it could be copper as a magnet does not stick. The wood it sits on is also a solid piece with nice grain. The wood has a few scratches which could easily be taken care of by sanding an refinishing.
