Pickelhaube Inkwell - WWI Imperial german Spiked Helmet
Militaria
Brandywine Militaria
$162
Very nicely rendered inkwell in the form of a Prussian pickelhaube. As a bonus there is a sword going through the helmet as well. Fittings are all complete with good detail. Even the chinstrap is real leather. Inside the well itself is a thimble (Which comes out easily enough if need be) which is useful in reducing the size of the well for smaller amounts of ink. The bse is a black finished metal disk which is interesting because this looks like the same material and finish of the plates used in... Click for details

ORIENTAL BRASS DRAGON/GARGOYLE, LETTER OPENER
Writing Instruments: Desk Articles
Packrats Plunders
LA 100285 $48.00
Absolutely beautiful and intricate full-bodied dragon on scabbard, plus Foo-Dog or Gargoyle head on handle, and other designs embellish the top of this brass handled, brass sheathed letter opener. The embossing, or chasing on the face is very detailed and appears to be carved into the brass. I first felt that it was cast, and it may be, but the detailing seems considerably cleaner and sharper than what I normally associate with castings. It is heavy and appears to be cast brass. The back is well... Click for details
