Card cases were fashionable items in the 19th century, and this coin silver one made c. 1860 by Albert Coles of New York would have made a notable statement for its owner. It measures 3 3/8" by 2 3/8" by 1/8". Both sides of the piece are intricately engraved with ivy and lotus or palmetto leaf detailing, which are motifs that would have been especially popular at the time. DuroLite mechanical lead pencil with, Heuer Shoe Stores, Sedalia – Clinton”, which are in Missouri of course. It is also flanked by pictures of a rooster that is marked faintly “Weather Bird, Shoes”, plus a red diamond that has the logo “Peters Diamond Brand Shoes”. Lovely pair of mid-19th Century, probably English, solid brass candlesticks, in "as is" condition. They are fairly soiled, show slight amount of superficial rust, one top piece shows an area of having been soldered (pictured), both have a few very minor scrapes, scratches, and little dings, one is missing the pushup. For sale is an early gold filled / rolled gold telescoping mechanical pencil, dated 1846. The pencil is 3 1/2 inches long retracted, 4 1/4" long when extended. The body is decorated with engraved decoration as shown. It has a sliding loop on the barrel with a round link for wearing. It has a red glass jewel on the cap. It is monogrammed "C.A. Kneedler 1846" as shown. There are no marks.
