This was a very unique find. I knew this was some type of magnifying glass, but that was all. This type of glass is most difficult to find and one encased like this with felt on the bottom, is RARE indeed. Bought at an estate sale several years ago, it has been a knick-knack in my office. This walnut Barlow desk set contains what appears to be a scrimshaw medallion with a pair of mustangs racing across the prairie. The gold-tone writing pen has been tested and works fine. The base measures approximately 5" X 3 3/8". The set is in the original box. We have not been able to locate another set like this, so we cannot put an accurate date on the piece. Watch for the matching paperweight to be sold here soon!

This is a Size (1) one Carter's Stamp Pad. It contains an attached cloth pad to the glass bottom dish. The bottom reads "The Carter"s Ink Company,Made in U.S.A." It comes with the original manufacturers lid. The lid is missing one of the sides and all sides have separated from the corners. the glass has one small chip off the bottom, but does not affect the use or appearance of the pad. Great Office collectible.
