The Hero Shanghai Pen Company was founded in 1933. So it isn't a coincidence that their mainstays resemble old Parkers. The 616 is an aeromatic fill pen that has been made for years. From its cap to its hooded fine point it looks like a twin to the Parker 51. I am a fountain pen collector ---and USER. This offering is for a great Sheaffer White Dot desk set. The black base is either onyx or marble and in excellent condition. Base measures 5" x 3.5". The pen has a 14kt gold nib and it is the "Lifetime" variety that was first introduced in 1943. I am not sure of the age of this set but believe it was at least prior to 1970. When teaching, I used these fountain pens (cartridge type) to motivate my students to learn to write cursive.
