This Reverse Tipt teaspoon measures 5 1/2" long and weighs .74 T. oz.

It is clearly stamped with pseudo hallmarks that include a "lion passant," a "leopard face," "YS," and a "bust."

Intentionally mirroring late Georgian English style and period hallmarks, this is an example of Chinese Export silver, produced in this instance in Canton by the maker Yatshing aka Yat Shing.

As export silver, it would likely have been made to a sterling standard and is well crafted.... Click for details

This really nice Blue Mist Egg 2-Piece Trinket Box with Lid, featuring the hand painted Daisies decoration, was made by Westmoreland Glass. This Trinket Box measures 3 1/2 inches X 2 1/2 inches. Both the bottom and lid are in very good condition with no chips or crack. The painted Daisies decoration is all very good. The original Westmoreland label is attached. An original, early production, piece, this regular length, 6 3/8" long, .64 T. oz. olive spoon in the Fairfax pattern is marked with Durgin's "D" emblem, "Sterling," "Pat'd," and "A. Stowell & Co.," a once prominent Boston jeweler.

Introduced in 1910 by Durgin, this colonial revival design proved immensely popular and was continued in production by Gorham after it absorbed Durgin in the early decades of the 20th century.

Offered is a very fine early American coin silver coffin-end spoon initialed "SD" in period script and marked with the maker's mark of Jabez Baldwin, working in Salem, Massachusetts between 1795 and 1813. This piece measures about 6 3/16 inches in length and weighs about 16 grams. Condition is very good overall, with minimal wear and no dents, splits or repairs. All in all a fine example of the pure coffin-end form at its height!

Offered is a lovely decorated coin silver spoon dating to about 1805-1809, the period New York City silversmith Thaddeus Keeler (1787-1813) was working alone. This piece is nicely engraved with period script initials "JRB" and the decoration on the handle is quite unusual. It is also marked with Mr. Keeler's maker's mark to the reverse. Offered is an excellent early American coin silver teaspoon by noted Long Island and New York City silversmith Joel Sayre (1778-1818), who was working in Southampton from 1798-1801 and in NYC from 1802-1811. This piece is beautifully engraved along the handle, and features period script initials of "CK". Joel Sayre's maker's mark is legibly struck to the reverse. An early production piece, this 7 3/8" long, 1.74 T. oz., solid silver tomato server in Strasbourg is marked with Gorham's "lion, anchor, G" emblem, "Sterling," and "Pat. 1897."

Further evidence of its age is found in the fact that the heel of the blade has raised shoulders with decorated edges. Later examples in this line have plain shoulders.

The blade also has extensive piercing, thirty-three individual cuts on a quick count.
