Marked with model number "1110," Gorham's "lion, anchor, G" emblem, "Sterling," and a "D" date letter for 1871, each of these two matching open salts stands 1 3/4" high, with the pair weighing just over 2.7 T. oz. combined.

They are cauldron shaped, stand on 1 5/8" diameter tiered bases and have applied rims on the top openings which are 1 3/4" across.

Never monogrammed or inscribed, they remain in good condition. They sit evenly and are without dents or bends, noting a single dimple on... Click for details

One of several partnerships in which silversmith and jeweler Albert Lamb Lincoln participated, "Lincoln & Reed" operated in Boston 1838-48.

This 5 3/4" long, .4 T. oz., teaspoon with an upturned, "Tipt" end is a particularly finely crafted item in mint estate condition.

The handle reverse is engraved "M. Dix." in precise script lettering.

It has a brilliant, hand polished only, finish and is without bends, dents, nicks, or other signs of wear.

A large, 9 1/4" long, and robust, approximately 3.8 T. oz., item, this berry spoon is an early example of Alvin's 1905 Art Nouveau "Old Orange Blossom" pattern, informally known as "OOB."

Early pieces distinguish themselves from later ones and reproductions by their exceptionally fine detail and finish. In addition, the handle is up-tipped, while later made pieces had flat handle ends.

Circa 1850, American rustic farmhouse child's painted ladder back chair with rush seat. Currently painted blue, it appears that the original color was green. In terrific shape, it measures 14ʺ across, 11ʺ deep, 19ʺ high with the seat height being 7".

Taking its name from the novel by Sir Walter Scott, "Kenilworth" originated with Albert Coles in the 1860s who made it in both coin and sterling silver, and was subsequently produced by George Shiebler, as evidenced by this large, 9 7/8" long, approximately 3.1 T. oz. pie or pastry server marked with Shiebler's "winged S" emblem and "Sterling" on the handle reverse.

A design inspired by English antecedents, Dominick & Haff's 1898 "New King" is a one of the most impressive of the myriad renditions of this motif produced by American makers. It employs a robust amount of detailing, all well-balanced and set in high relief.

D&H was known for heavy pieces and that carries through to this 4 3/4" long, weighty at 1.8 T. oz., pair of sugar tongs with an Old English "A" monogram on the arch and finely articulated talon grips.
