Offered is an extremely rare early American watch paper for Savannah, GA clock and watch maker James M. Jones, working circa 1825-50 in that city. Mr. Jones was also an active member of the community and a Lieutenant in the Chatham Artillery; he took part in the defense of Jacksonville in This watch paper was engraved by George W. The first in-house pattern produced by Tiffany became the company's namesake design, designated "Tiffany," and reflected Greek Revival design sensibilities. "Beekman" was an 1880s or 1890s reissue of the line, with slight changes.

This 7" long, 1.4 T. oz., preserve spoon is an example of the original pattern, retaining side knobs and having a pointed anthemion tip.

It is marked "Tiffany & Company," "Sterling," Pat. 1869," and with a lower case "m," dating it no later than 1891.

Measuring 5" long overall, this tea caddy spoon has a sterling silver, shell-shaped, bowl that is fully hallmarked for Birmingham, England, 1811, with a maker's stamp that appears to be "J.L" or "J.D".

It is fitted with a natural, likely bone, handle that has a rounded end and polished surface.

The bowl has a small, flat, hood that covers the heel, and a silver sleeve that accommodates the handle.

Offered is a fine and rare pair of early American coin silver sugar tongs by the celebrated Philadelphia partnership of Lewis & Smith. Harvey Lewis and Joseph D. Smith worked in partnership from about 1805 to 1811, and produced some of the most finely executed and beautifully engraved silver of their era. Many examples of their excellent hollowware and flatware are extant in public collections.

Offered is a good and scarce pair of American coin silver table spoons from Hagerstown, Maryland. Some consider silver from Maryland towns like Hagerstown to be Southern coin silver due to the sympathies of many of the inhabitants. These spoons bear the maker's mark of Thomas Alexander Boullt (1818-1876), a well-known Hagerstown silversmith, jeweler, watchmaker and clockmaker. Offered is a nice Scottish provincial silver spoon by jeweler and silversmith John Pringle, working in Perth circa 1823-60. This piece probably dates to the earlier part of Pringle's career. It is engraved with a period Scottish-style script monogram of JF or IF, and bear's Pringle's maker's mark, struck twice and accompanied by two strikes of a Perth eagle pseudo-hallmark. Stamped "F.A.B & Co.," this 8" long, approximately 2.0 T. oz., coin silver sugar sifter was produced by Francis A. Bunnell (also Bunnelle) of Syracuse, New York, in the 1860s.

The pattern is known as "Fox Head" or "Wolf Head," indicative of the three dimensional animal figure situated at the tip of the handle. This is embellished by ivy leaves that appear on both sides of the handle and backside heel of the bowl.
