Offered is a scarce American coin silver dessert spoon by A. C. Billon of Davenport, Iowa, circa 1849-65. Billon, whose first name appears from period newspaper notices to have been Alfred, started the first jewelry store in Davenport in 1849, and may have been in business as late is the 1890s. It is a fully original item, not made up or adapted from another piece.
