One of the numerous partnerships that prominent silversmith William Gale of New York City entered into, "Gale & Willis" spanned the years 1859-62.

This example of his work is a 7 3/8" long, weighty at 2.0 T. oz., gravy ladle.

It has a twisted handle and broad, shaped, flat handle that is bright cut engraved with an engine turned background.

There is a shield reserve with an Old English "CPK" or "CPR" monogram inscribed on it.

The bowl is generously sized at 2 3/8" by 2" by 5/8"... Click for details

Offered is a rare, early and splendid George III English sterling silver toy spoon or miniature spoon (or possibly a snuff spoon), hallmarked for London, 1791 but without a maker's mark that I can discern. Often such miniature spoons were not fully marked, and were entirely unmarked in some cases. These piece is delightfully decorated with a swaged rococo scroll to the back of the bowl, and is fully engraved in the latest style to the front. This spoon measures about 3 1/8 inches in length...
