Gorham 'Medallion' Sterling Silver Shell Bowl Sugar Spoon
Silver : Sterling : Flatware
Old Friends
5490f $70.00
Outstanding among the various Medallion patterns produced during the 1860s, Gorham's version was the one chosen by Tiffany & Co. to offer under its retail banner. This factor may explain the reason why it was more often than not made to a sterling silver standard, which Tiffany required, versus the typical coin of the period. This 5 7/8" long, .8 T. oz., sugar spoon mirrors this practice. It is marked with a "lion, anchor, G" emblem, "Pat. 1864," "Gorham & Co.," and "Sterling" on... Click for details

Bruce Cherner Antique Silver
2518 Inquire for Price
diameter 9 1/2 inches, weight 26.2 Troy ounces, craftsman [probably] David Carlson. There is a small divot along the rim which we've magnified twenty-fold so that it looks like a crater, but this is barely visible to the naked eye. There are also some salt spots on the interior, (see fifth photo) but the chasing is crisp and the overall condition is truly outstanding.
This is one of Stone's best designs, with similar examples held at Yale University Art Gallery and other major museums. ... Click for details
