Fenton Light Blue Mini Bell, Hand Painted: This 4.6" bell is hand painted, with glass frit lavendar flowers, by D. Caplinger (? Not sure of spelling). It still has the paper silver label on it and also a scripted "F" inside for Fenton. It is in mint condition.

A pattern originated by New York's John Polhamus and later continued by George Shiebler, "Diamond" is an elaborate Gothic Revival design.

Issued in 1867, as evidenced by the "J.P. Patent 1867" imprinted on the handle backside of this 7 1/8" long, weighty at 1.5 T. oz., fork, this was retailed by "Tiffany & Co.," whose name also appears on the reverse, along with "Sterling."

Tiffany began its own production of flatware in 1868, so this dates from a narrow time frame.

This 7 3/8" long, 1.3 T. oz., youth knife (could double as a tea or dessert piece) has a hollow handle and flat, solid silver, blunt end blade.

It was made by Gorham, whose "lion, anchor, G" emblem and the word "Sterling" are imprinted on the blade backside.

An engaging design, the handle portrays pastoral scenes, with a woman and dog tending sheep on one side, and a man on horseback with scurrying chickens on the other.

Measuring 5 1/4" long and weighing just over 1.1 T. oz., this sardine fork is an early production example of International's 1903 Art Nouveau "Frontenac."

It is marked with the Simpson, Hall, Miller division of the company "helmet over shield" emblem, "Pat'd," and "Sterling." The end of the handle turns upward, as is characteristic of older production pieces.

There are six short tines on the 2" by 1 1/4" serving end.

Measuring 10 1/2" long, and weighing 4.7 T. oz., this piece is an oyster ladle, a size that is slightly smaller than a full size soup.

The pattern, "Maryland," dates from the late 19th century, and features scrolls, acanthus leaves, and a spray of roses. The acanthus leaf detail extends onto the flange shoulders of the bowl, which has a gold washed interior and a shell on the heel of the backside.

This is a really great, vintage, King Corn, aka Corn King, Covered Casserole made by Shawnee Pottery. This Corn Casserole measures 11 inches long X 5 inches across. A significant name among New York City silversmiths of the first half of the 19th century, examples of William Thomson's work are held in the collections of The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Museum of the City of New York, and Winterthur.

This piece, marked "W.Thomson" on the inside of one leg, is a 6 1/2" long, weighty at 1.9 T. oz., pair of tongs.

A flatware line produced by Stieff and retailed exclusively by Colonial Williamsburg, "Williamsburg Shell" features a raised shell applied on the end of a sharply curved, rounded, "Antique" handle.

This example is a 7 1/2" long, weighty at 2.8 T. oz., gravy ladle with a large, round, 2 1/4" diameter, 5/8" deep, hemispherical bowl that is itself shell form.

Offered is a rare example of West Virginia coin silver spoons bearing the mark of John William Mather, jeweler of Parkersburg (fl. 1868-75). The marks on these tablespoons are very interesting - instead of a COIN mark for fineness, there is a mark of SILVER, and the maker's mark/retailer's mark of Mather is quite nice, with JOHN W.MATHER in a banner over PARKERSBURG.W.VA in a shaped punch, flanked by a star. Offered is a good American coin silver soup ladle by noted Philadelphia silversmith James Watts, and bearing manufacturing marks attributed to him, and probably used around the 1850s or early 1860s. This soup ladle has no monogram and does not have any obvious sign of erasure. It measures about 12 1/4 inches in length and weighs a hefty 156 grams or so. Chocolate muddlers are characteristically long-handled, designed to reach deep into a chocolate pot to stir any powder that may have settled on the bottom, and that is the case with this 8 3/8" long, faintly over 1.0 T. oz., example.

The pattern is Gorham's "Lancaster," issued in 1897. The beaded border handle features a cluster of rose blossoms at the tip, and in this instance is engraved with an Old English letter "S" monogram.

Watson Newell's "Orchid" is one of numerous floral designs the company produced in the early part of the 20th century that yet stand as exemplary expressions of Art Nouveau design.

This example is a 5" long, .9 T. oz., cream ladle.

The flower is fully three-dimensional, rising out of the end of handle and folding over on itself in a highly expressive manner, with trailing leaves tracing their way up the handle margins, front and back sides.
