Fantastic Crested American Coin Silver Teaspoon by Maltby Pelletreau

Offered is a fine and scarce American coin silver teaspoon bearing an armorial crest of a flaming tower or other device of some kind, by well-known New York silversmith Maltby Pelletreau. I haven't identified the family to whom the armorial is tied. The Pelletreau family of silversmiths of Southampton, Long Island are famous, the shop of Elias Pelletreau (father of Maltby) having survived to the present day. Maltby began his career circa 1804 in Southampton with his apprenticeship, and... Click for details

Rare Hanoverian Teaspoon by Philip Roker II, w/Full Name Mark c. 1740

Offered is a fine early English sterling silver teaspoon in the Hanoverian pattern by well-known specialist spoonmaker and silversmith Philip Roker II. The mark on this spoon is a rare example of eighteenth century English maker's mark incorporating a full surname name, rather than initials only. I've never had another example, although there are a few Roker spoons floating around with this mark. The P:ROKER mark on the back of the handle (along with a lion passant) was an unregistered mark... Click for details
