Alvin "Edward VII" Knight Themed Heavy Sterling Silver Gravy Ladle
Silver : Sterling : Flatware

Old Friends
4033f   $110.00

click for details
Alvin's 1899 "Edward VII is nearly without parallel in the realm of silver patterns.

The only similarly themed line is Whiting's "Heraldic," while a weak third is Baker-Manchester's "Spartan."

All three feature a knight's helmet at the handle end, which in Alvin's instance is also embellished with scrolling acanthus leaves.

This is the most robust of the three iterations, as is evidenced by this 7" long, very heavy at 3.3 T. oz., gravy ladle with a 2 1/2" by 2 1/8" by 3/4" deep bowl.... Click for details

Nice Georg Jensen "Lily of the Valley" Pattern Dessert Spoon Ca. 1915
Silver : Sterling

Cliff Nunn - Antique Silver and Decorative Arts
20191103-19   $25.00

click for details
Offered is a very fine and early Lily of the Valley pattern (also known as LILJEKONVAL pattern) Scandinavian / Danish silver dessert spoon by noted silversmith Georg Jensen, circa 1915 to judge by the period engraving. Jensen himself designed this pattern circa 1913, so this is an early production piece. The marks appear to be slightly different than those typically seen, but I think it is unlikely they are spurious given the period engraving, which is to finely executed to be incorrect. This...
