Coffee pot has a domed, hinged lid. Pattern introduced 1904. Mark M is for Louis Moore, 1947-1956. He was the son of John C. Moore. The creamer and sugar bowl patterns were introduced in 1908. The coffee pot has a wood double scroll handle, and a silver finial. The sugar bowl was not made with a lid. Creamer has a double scroll silver handle. Offered is a lovely and quite rare example of the silverwork of Bernard Hendel, better known as a clockmaker and the least known of the Hendel brothers. Bernard worked from about 1811 to 1844, and a number of clocks bearing his name alone or in conjunction with his brother Jacob are known. However, there is almost no silver bearing his name. A late 19th century, not commonly found, design made by the Chicago firm "Wendell Manufacturing Company," "Ariel" features a cherubic-looking figure set against a dense, decorative background. It is highly reminiscent of Dominick & Haff's "Labors of Cupid," which it predates by five years, 1895 vs. 1900.

This example is a 6 1/4" long, heavy, 1.7 T. oz. sauce or small gravy ladle. The 1 3/4" diameter, 5/8" deep, bowl has flange shoulders and a scalloped and patterned outer border.

This really great Tucker Water Pitcher was made by Lenox china in 1980. This Pitcher measures 8 1/4 inches high to the spout. It measures 9 1/4 inches high to top of handle. It is a reproduction of a 19th century pitcher and is beautifully decorated with 24 kt gold accents. It is in very good condition with no chips or cracks. This piece of holloware was made to match Tiffany's 1872 "Persian" pattern, and incorporates the same Moorish motif that is found in the flatware line.

This appears on the banding on the upper inner rim and edge of the pedestal base of this 8" top diameter, 4" across the bottom, 5 1/4" tall, 14.9 T. oz., footed bowl, aka tazza or compotier.

The entire piece is characterized by elegant, clean lines, and bright, mirror-like surfaces.

This really beautiful Milk Glass white Apple Blossom Crest Crimped Top Flower Vase, Number 7262 AB, was made by Fenton Glass in 1960 - 1961. This vase measures 12 3/4 inches high X 9 1/2 inches at the wide part of the top. It is pictured on page 42 - Fenton Art Glass Book by Margaret and Ken Whitmyer and listed as rare with limited production of this color. To a European scale, each of these two, matching, forks measures 8" long. They are very heavy at 5.2 T. oz. the pair.

The pattern is a "Tipt," with beveled edges along the margins of the handles. The ends are slightly upturned, and the tines are long and tapered.

Each piece is fully marked with a "lion" for sterling, a "leopard's face" for London, a date letter "e" for 1834-35, a duty mark, and "WJ" for maker William Johnson.

Sources indicate that Charles C. Shaver and Henry S. Brown, the makers of this 6 1/2" long, 1.0 T. oz., ladle formed their partnership in 1856.

The partnership only lasted two years as Shaver sold out to Brown in 1858, but whose interest he bought back in 1863. All this history indicates the mark on this piece is rarer than most associated with the Shaver name.

The pattern is one described as "ornamental" in Rainwater's "Encyclopedia of American Silver Manufacturers." The design... Click for details
