Offered is a nice American coin silver cream ladle by a little-documented East Hartford, CT partnership between Walter M. Pitkin and Henry D. Sumner, and bearing each of their marks, flanking an American eagle manufacturer's mark. This piece is engraved 'Julia Ann' in period script. It measures about six inches in length and weighs about 19 grams. Condition is fairly good, with some surface wear to the bowl and a few small dings and bends from normal use, but no splits or repairs. All in all... Click for details

Offered is a nice early 18th Century Chinese export porcelain blue and white cup and saucer, over-decorated in enamels in Holland in the manner known as Amsterdam Bont, and specifically in the pattern known as "the flower basket, in Dutch de bloemenmand". From the underglaze blue pattern, this cup and saucer is probably late Kangxi or Yongzheng period, somewhere in the range of 1710-40. Offered is a highly unusual and rare American coin silver ladle from the 1830-50 period by Philadelphia silversmith Thomas Wriggins, which has a shell to the handle and a repoussé Peruvian National Coat of arms, or National Shield (Escudo Nacional). Per Peruvian law, "The arms of the Peruvian Nation shall consist of a shield divided into three fields: one celestial blue to the right, with a vicuna looking inside; other white to the left, with a Cinchona officinalis placed within, and another,... Offered is a very nice antique box for a necklace, from West Virginia jeweler Harry M. Fisher, who commenced business in 1912. It's a bit under 9 1/2 inches long. It probably dates to about 1912-25. There are a few stains and signs of wear, but overall it is in fairly good condition for its age, with a staple on one side, presumably to reinforce the hinge. Such boxes are very hard to find, and house antique pieces beautifully. All in all a lovely and useful box for the Southern material... Click for details

Offered is a nice antique 19th Century Russian silver teaspoon of traditional form, measuring about 5 1/16 inches in length and weighing about 10 grams. This piece is hallmarked for Moscow, 1895. Condition is fairly good, with some surface wear to the bowl, which is very slightly out of round, but with no splits or repairs. All in all a perfect spoon for everyday use with Russian porcelain!

This group, a hard to find matching set of twelve in Whiting's Art Nouveau Violet, measure a typical 5 3/8" long each and weigh a relatively light 5.8 T. oz. the lot.

Introduced in 1905, these are early issue items marked "Pat. App. For." Other marks include Whiting's "lion and W" logo, "Sterling," and the name of the retailer, "I. Lewkowitz," located in New York City's lower East Side.
