Good Pair Teaspoons by Henry Erwin of Philadelphia, w/Pseudo-Hallmark
Silver : Coin Silver

Offered is a fine pair of early American coin silver teaspoons by noted Philadelphia silversmith Henry Erwin, circa 1816-34. Although spoons by Erwin are not uncommon and I have handled many, the pseudo-hallmark on these spoons to the right of the maker's mark are unique in my experience. What exactly they represent visually is a mystery - it looks to me like a hunting dog looking back over its shoulder when oriented so that the bottom is toward the name mark. These spoons also have period... Click for details
