This is a ladies cuspidor or spittoon in blue and white transferware pottery. In the dance halls and in Victorian homes ladies would chew tobacco and of course they needed to spit it out, therefore the name Spittoon or a classier name Cuspidor.
Measuring 7 1/2 inches wide and 5 inches high blue and white flowers in very good condition but it is unmarked. Along the edge there is an oval raised piece that was once trimmed in gold I believe this had a name on it but long worn off except a resi... Click for details
