Reference material on "G. Weckman," the name stamped on this pair of 8" long, 3.0 T. oz. combined weight, tablespoons is not readily accessible. Presumably the mark is for Gustaf Adolf Weckman, born in Hameenlinna, Finland, with dates 1823-1901. He is described in a genealogical source as a "master gold and silversmith." This is William Rogers Mfg. Co., Hartford, Conn, vintage, quadruple plate serving dish with ornate handle and pedestal base. It has the number 937 on the bottom of the dish.
This piece is in good condition. It is quite lovely. But it shows overall wear including discoloration found throughout. There are a few light scratches inside the "bowl" of the dish. This is a very nice vintage WM. A. ROGERS silverplate butter dish, footed, with a glass insert tray and lid. It measures 8" long, 5" wide and 3" tall with the handle.
Please look at both of the photo enlargements . As you can see , there are several dark spots. The piece needs cleaning . A QUALITY CLEANING & POLISHING WILL ENHANCE THIS ITEM. THERE ARE DARK SPOTS ON IT NOW. I THINK a good cleaning would remove these spots. It is a very elegant butter dish and has charm. Please see both... Click for details

This is a nice old cast iron standing string holder in very good condition. It measures 5" tall. The top twists off and on. There are tabs that lock it in place.
These string holders were used in Mercantile General Stores to tie packages for customers..However, now it could be used in crafting projects.
This item is cast iron and it is heavy.
