Meerschaum is a German word meaning “sea foam”. Geologists know it as hydrous magnesium silicate.
The pipe will turn from beige to red. It will take
from 2 to 3 years for the pipe to color, although it depends on the tobaccos that are used and the amount of time smoked.
Use tobaccos rich in latakia. Do not cover the pipe with chamois to protect it. The chamois can retard the coloring process.

Actually, you get 3 items in this offer.
All three for one price. There is one windmill bulb pot which is NOT MARKED. Classic blue and white windmill pattern but it has no mark on the bottom. I think it is a bulb pot. (Maybe a Crocus Flower Pot.)
It measures about 5 " tall x 4" wide at the top. The original paint job on this bulb pot is not the best but it has a great windmill motif.

This is a beautiful vintage ashtray. However, there are no grooves for cigarettes so it might be a candy dish or small mint dish. It is lovely..
It measures 5" diameter x 6 1/4" overall, including the handle. It is very ornate and decorative. I do not know what the handle is made of. It has a bird perched on the handle with its wings spread. This brass ashtray is a puzzle to us. We do not know how old it is or where it was made. It IS really intriguing. It has a creature on the right top corner that looks like a dragon. Then , there are two children (?) trying to light a very long pipe in the middle of the ashtray. This is definitely a conversation starter. It has no marks on the back of the ashtray. It measures 5" high and 7" wide. This would be a fascinating and curious addition to any collection.

This is a fine old Chinese Cinnabar snuff bottle. I believe these are carved scenes with different scenes on each side. This has the original spoon in it.
It has brass trim on the lid and on the bottle itself around the rim. It is signed in gold on the bottom. I am not knowledgeable on Chinese antiques but I believe it is quite old. It measures
