This is a 1902 - 2002 LIMITED EDITION "TEDDY'S TEDDY" THEODORE ROOSEVELT 100TH ANNIVERSARY 16" SINGING PLUSH TEDDY BEAR. Collector's edition. Press this little bear's paw and Elvis sings the classic song "Teddy Bear". ( The little story card tied to his ear has a fold in it but otherwise, it is in great condition.)

Teddy bears were named after the 26th President of the United States, Theodore Roosevelt. The story goes that he was on a scenic trip with members of his presidential party when he spotted a bear cub tied up to a tree. He ordered the bear cub set free. The story spread about his kindhearted act, and a store owner asked permission to name the toy bears in his store after the President. The President gave his consent and from then on, all toy bears were named teddy bears.
