This is a set of six (6) consecutive numbered 1976 - BICENTENNIAL~~ Stamped on 1ST DAY of ISSUE - $2 bills in crisp uncirculated condition. Stamped and canceled April 13th, 1976, Cincinnati. On the back of the bills is a picture of the signing of the Declaration of the Independence.
There could be more green stuff in Easter baskets this year than the usual plastic Easter grass. You could "bank" some of these green $2. bills in Easter baskets. These bills are nice for young-- and old--- currency collectors.
The 1976 $2. bills were reissued for the first time since 1966. And they were circulated on Thomas Jefferson's birthday. These bills have the 13 cent stamp on them and they are canceled with the date. A lot of people bought the special bills to give as gifts--to be stamped and canceled to show they got them on the very first day of issue. See photos.
