If you are a man that has sported a mustache, you know how easy it is for drink or food to get in it. Fortunately, someone, somewhere, invented the mustache cup to keep your well groomed mustache from getting spoiled by your coffee or tea. This is a victorian mustache cup. It is decorated with leaves and flowers in shades of green, pink and gold accents. It has a scalloped bottom. (There is a small brush stroke or smudge on the cup, to the left of the flowers. See photo. It looks like the mark has always been there.) The cup measures 3 1/4" tall x 4 1/2" wide including the handle. I do not know anything at all about this cup. It came from an estate sale. I don't know any history.
We try to describe things well and to make sure that the photos are good but, sometimes, in spite of our best intentions, we may miss something . I find no chips or cracks anywhere. It would be a nice addition to a collection and would display very well. It is a beautiful cup. A nice piece.
