Large Early Blue Staffordshire Plate

This large, scalloped, gadroon edge blue transferware plate dates from between 1822 and 1846. It measures approximately 10 1/2" in diameter and is in the "Canton Views" pattern. This plate was manufactured by Staffordshire potters Elkin, Knight, and Bridgwood. This item is in excellent condition. There are no chips, cracks, lines, repairs, or stains. Noting only a few very miniscule knife marks which can only be seen when turned toward a strong light. The glaze is very shiny and has several bubbles on the front of the design. These bubbles occurred during manufacture and can only been seen in a strong light. A very pleasing and attractive early plate with an Asian design.
