Purple Transferware Plate

This attractive purple transferware plate was manufactured by an unknown Staffordshire potter sometime in the mid to late 19th century. I would date it to the latter. Measuring a little over 9 inches in diameter, this plate is in the "Poonah J." pattern. It is in excellent condition. There are no chips, cracks, repairs, or lines, on this beauty. Only a little staining on the backside that doesn't go through to the front. The very shiny glaze indicates this item was probably rarely used. An interesting and pretty geometric and floral pattern!
