This stunning pair of Pearlware Tazzas date from the mid 19th century. I do not know who the maker was, but one has the handpainted number of 6369 on the bottom and the words "Semi- China" impressed on the bottom.
The contrast of the gilt and cobalt acanthus leaves and the reddish-yellow part is striking!
Condition: One is in excellent condition. There is some wear to gilt noted, but nothing that detracts. There are no chips, cracks, repairs, stains, or lines. There is moderate wear to the base, due to use and age.
The second one is in very good condition, overall. There is a small chip (approximately 1/4" in diameter on the back. This is not apparent on the front side. There is age wear to the base.
A great pair of English Staffordshire dishes!
