VINTAGE SILVER DANISH LADLE – 1936
The simplicity of the flat handle of this ladle is balanced by the curvacious four-lobed bowl. A stock of flowers is lightly engraved on the handle which is outlined with a thread. The underside is completely plain. There is no maker's mark, but the imprint on the back of the handle is of three towers over the number 36 and indicates its origins (Denmark), year of manufacture (1936), and purity of 826 (82.6%) as further guaranteed by the JS mark of the Assay Master, Jens Sigsgaard (active 1932-1960). The condition is excellent, with only the most superficial of scratches anywhere. Its length 6.75 in., the bowl is 3.25 in across, and weight is 54 g. There is no monogram or removal.
