This is a very nice story for 4th grade readers. It is a weekly reader, published in 1972 by Harcourt Brace, about a young man that has to go to his Grandmothers house accompanied by his sister while their parents are away. Very nicely illustrated by Deborah Kogan Ray this book describes the hardships a young girl and her family face traveling across the country in a covered wagon in the 1860s. Our copy, stated First Edition, was published in 1988 by Holiday House. It is a former library book with a laminated dust cover and reinforced binding.
