This story by Lois Meyer, and nicely illustrated by Ruth Sanderson, was actually adapted from the tale by Clara Louise Grant. It seems that Christina, a young girl who lived on a farm with her Mom & Dad, had a wonderful relationship with Lucy a doll her Mom made for her. One day, her Dad repaired the auto of a stranger that broke down near their home. The following day the stranger brought Christina her first store bought china doll in gratitude for the family's good deed. Published by Western Publishing Inc. in 1983 "I printing" our copy is in very, very good condition.
