ABOUT: Pretty little floral letter opener in a dagger shape from Shiebler's Flora line. This is the Daffodil / Narcissus motif. No monograms, life like floral detail on front of the handle with a smooth back. Not a very often seen form. Dates to around the turn of the century or early 1900s. I will be listing sterling items from my collection so please check out my other listings this week! MEASUREMENTS: The opener measures 4 /4" in length. Weighs 15 grams according to my little digital scale. MARKS AND PATTERNS: Marked Sterling on the back with the Shiebler Hallmarks on the back of the handle (they are faint but they are there) and a pattern number and retail stamp. Please note this is in estate condition. Some areas of the blade have a cloudy appearance and there are a few deeper nicks on the stems closest to the blade. The back has some nicks to the tip and some deeper scratches since it is flat and smooth. The daffodil flowers still look nice and it is not bent, the blade is still straight, but plenty of wear from use and polish over the years with some deeper linear utensil scratches and nicks. Pattern on the handle is still very crisp But Please note this is not in mint condition.
