ABOUT: Perfect for your Table! Over 9 inches each and HEAVY antique Reed & Barton Sterling Silver salad serving set in the larger size, and these are the older version. They are dated "1878-1903" which provides a lovely provenance and how romantic that they were given to commemorate a 25th anniversary! No other monograms on them, no initials or names on the pieces. Faint GOLDWASH remains in the bowls which is really neat because the white sterling design of the handle extends into the vermeil bowls providing a neat contrast. Fork has a very ornate and beautiful reticulated / cut out pattern. The spoon has a slightly scalloped shape. Les Six Fleurs pattern began production in 1901and was designed by Charles A. Bennett. Fantastic Art Nouveau details with shaggy flowers, I believe a wild rose, forget me nots, poppy, orchid, etc. LOVELY detailed, high relief design. Really impressive high quality pieces that would make a fantastic statement on any table. MEASUREMENTS: The spoon measures a little over 9 1/4" in length, the bowl is about 2 3/4" in width or so at the widest part. The fork measures 9 5/8" in length and the area of the tines is 2 3/4" in width as well at the widest part. Super sturdy, set weighs a combined 256 grams. MARKS AND PATTERNS: Marked "Sterling" with the Reed and Barton hallmarks and "Pat. Appl'd For" IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES: Please note this set is in estate condition with some all over surface wear and scratches from use and polishing over the years. There are some areas of stubborn tarnish and tarnish spots but I didn't want to over polish them and risk losing the patina or the gold wash so I just gave them a light hand cleaning. The fork has a few deeper scratches on the far right tine. I see a few utensil nicks and some utensil scratches in the spoon bowl and tines as well as some scuffs on the backs of the pieces from where they meet the table. No damage or scratching, no dings or dents to any of the artwork or design, NO BENDS AT ALL WHERE THEY DON'T BELONG, it seems to be just the smooth areas of the spoon bowl and fork tines and the back of the pieces where any wear is made more evident by the mirrored finish. But Please note this is not in mint condition. Has been lightly hand polished. and could have some tarnish removed further, but I like to leave patina so the designs really stand out so I will leave the rest to the buyer.
