ABOUT: This FANTASTIC set comes from Tiffany's youth line - "Nursery Rhyme". Here we have a fun and whimsical fork in the Little Bo Peep motif, a knife in the Little Red Riding Hood motif and a spoon in the Jack and Jill motif. . NO MONOGRAMS ON ANY OF THE PIECES! Fantastic details on both sides up and down the stem. I love the detail on their clothing showing the dress blowing in the wind, the incredible details of their faces, the fur on the wolf, and especially the way the profiles depict the scene on both sides of the handle - Very nice quality typical of Tiffany & Co. This pattern began production in 1900 with this three piece set. Please note this is a married set collected from various places and assembled as a set by me... for you! :) It would make an excellent gift or keepsake, or even for every day use for a whimsical table, the quality is fantastic. MEASUREMENTS: The fork measures about 6 5/8" in length. The knife is 7 1/2" and the spoon is 6 3/8". FANTASTICALLY heavy hand feel. Feel quite a bit sturdier than some of my other more delicate pieces, the set weighs a combined 174 grams. MARKS AND PATTERNS: All are Marked Tiffany & Co. and Sterling on the back.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES: Please note this set is in estate condition with surface wear and scratching commensurate with age. The fork has a few utensil nicks on the tines that I tried to show in pictures, the spoon has a few pin dings on one side where it looks slightly misshapen and some pitting on the back of the spoon, along with a bit more wear to the handle. Just doesn't look quite as crisp to me. The set also has all over wear and scratches from use and polishing. No major dings or dents to any of the artwork or design, it seems to be just the smooth areas where any wear is made more evident by the mirrored finish, like in the bowl of the spoon and the knife blade. The back of the spoon on Jill's hair looks a little more muddled or less crisp as well. Still MANY years left in this fantastic sturdy set. BUT Please note this set is not in mint condition. Has been lightly hand polished. and could have some tarnish removed further, but I like to leave patina so the high relief designs really stand out so I will leave the rest to the buyer.
