Irish sterling egg spoon, marks of M. West, Dublin, 1824, and another maker's mark EC in a rectangle, possibly Christopher Eades, listed in 1821. Crest and motto (TYDE WHAT MAY) of the Haig family of Bemerside, Roxburgh, Scotland. The Haigs seem to have been active in the military, so Dublin-marked silver possibly the result of a posting to that city.
