Original Wavy Glass and Sephia Tone Original Print of a Flirting Couple
Lovely antique picture frame. The original romantic print with the waterway in the scene, maybe Venice? City of Water, City of Bridges and The City of Light.
Time Line. Estimated mid to late 1800's.
Condition. Please see pictures. Fine antique condition.
Cleaned and re-matted in a pearl grey about 30 years ago maintaining all original pieces. The old wood back was re-placed over the new backing. Felt placed on base and top back to protect furniture. Removable, but you get the fun of taking off if not wanted. Carved ornate hardwood frame with applied gesso (or of type) flora and fauna detail. Gilding added later. Attractive but one could have it removed if not wanted. We did not notice any missing pieces (but given the detail cannot promise we caught all). Light age hairlines to the wood and / or original production. Corners fit perfectly. Pattern in each corner is different.
Original wavy slightly imperfect glass.
You will see a faint horizontal strip of sun discoloration on the print from left to right across the girls skirt and boys neck.
