A handsome and highly collectable antique Victorian English jug. Soft white relief molded Tyrol jug
by William Brownfield with a marked James Dixon and Sons Britannia metal pewter lid.
Measurements. Touch over 7 inches tall to lip (includes lid rim) x touch over 2.5 inches at the
base.
Mark. William Brownfield. Registry diamond impressed inside the circle surround. 30 - Tyrol -
W.B. - Cobridge. Impressed dot and triangle mark outside of the circle. Registered October 12,1864 -
RD No. 179656.
Lid marked inside, 18 - James Dixon & Sons - Sheffield.
Condition. See pictures for detail. Additional pictures available by request. Fine antique. Normal
light wear from age and use. Interior surface scratching and light age use stain. Interior only glazed
over v shape firing line from manufacturer. Stipple exterior light random age and or stone spots. Lid
smooth and fits well, two pin design and pins intact. Beautiful lid hinge with lid thumb-rest "original to
production" drops flat to handle if lid open all the way. Handle shows no marks, so 145 years of good
care were a given.
