Charming Pattern
Antique Chinese export bowl in pastel colors (Fencai-powder colors). Scallop rim shaping and
turquoise interior. A design is depicted on each of the four reserves; horn of plenty, firecrackers or
scrolls, books and a triangle symbol.
Origin. China
Time Line. Based on what we could determine from stamp and style, Guangxu, c. 1875-1908.
Mark. Chinese character red stamp / seal as shown.
Condition. Please see pictures. Good antique condition with "extra character". This charming little
bowl may tell a story of having been buried or ship wrecked, but we do not know the actual. Porcelain
is thickly potted and fully intact. Expected modest use and potting irregularities of time. The exterior enamel decoration is faded in some areas. The vessels exterior has small size
areas of a black surface spotting. Shown in the photo's, with noted areas just above base line and
randomly throughout. Rim dressing enamel lightly faded. A sandy foot rim. No chips or cracks. Interior light reflection brought to you by the photographer, not the bowl.
Size. 4 Inches x 4 Inches x 2 Inches Tall.
