The most unique feature of this dog is a handwritten note on a yellowed piece of tape which reads..."bo't in Bollon(?)Falls, VT at Woolworth's around 1950". I have left it stuck on the bottom of the dog. The figurine is in very good condition for its age with no chips or damage. There are some very faint light crazing lines in the glaze. This is a fancy little fellow! He stands 2 7/8" tall and is 3 1/8" in length. His spaghetti is very fine and really stands out! Look at his face! I do not see one broken piece either. He has black eyes and is in grey translucent gloss glaze. Just so cute. An old piece, I just do not know how old. It is the lid to a tin (Bristol Ware?) and has an old plate hanger on it...you can tell it has been on there a long time! The lid pictures Nipper the dog, (then) trade mark of the RCA Corporation. It has corrosion and some scratches. Color is great. Under the rim it reads "Fabcraft, Inc. Considering the age of this book, I would have to judge it in good condition. It is hardcover, 248 pages and is the 25th printing dated June 1947. The original copyright was 1940 by the John C. Winston Company, illustrated by Marguerite Kirmse. The binding is in good shape with a little break at the very top edge; there is a stain of some kind on the bottom of the pages, you can see it in the picture. The Scottie, made famous by President Roosevelt during the '40's, adorns this precious little box! Mama and puppy both wear a bright red ribbon around their neck against a red-checked background.
