Remembering how popular these were back in the fifties, I would venture to guess this boxed set dates from that time period. There are two hankies, one with a large pink rose in one corner, pink around edges; the other has small blue rose buds sprinkled around the outer edges and trimmed in blue. Gold paper label reads "ALL COTTON, Made in Switzerland". Comes in a shallow hankerchief box which is imprinted with sprays of pink flowers; two corners are split from being mashed. Older set of butterfly dishes, probably from the '40's or '50's, made in Japan. They have oval-shaped silver paper stickers on the back of each but all the printing has worn off. There is also a gold printed number on each one. These are in perfect condition...not the first nick and the gold is wonderful! They measure approximately 6", 5" and 4 1/2". Scenes on this purse remind me of a Norman Rockwell painting...market scenes from the early 1900's. The decoupage is in good condition with no cracks. There is a small place right over the latch where it looks as if the decoupage coating is missing. The purse has a brown lucite handle and a brown, quilted lining. Perfect for the shabby chic look! White metal open-scroll wall plaque with mirror, decorated with large pink and green butterflies and red roses! Overall size of framework of piece is 19" x 9" but the butterflies stick out about 4 more inches on each side. One butterfly looks as if a bird might have caught him but he escaped!
