McCoy Pottery Brown Drip Glaze Small Crock 6" Tall

Another piece from my vintage kitchen collection. I have always used this to hold my wooden fork and spoons and don't really know what it is. Does not appear to have ever had a lid...there is no inside rim. It is in very good condition with just the usual manufacturer's flaws on the bottom, three little glaze skips.
