Pair of Unusual Vases, Crystal and ? Made in Japan

These are just oddies...I guess they are vases. I am not familiar with anything like these...the bottom looks like some kind of metal, silver plated? Does not look very expensive and is tarnished. They are just odd! Stand 7 1/8" H and Japan is embossed on the bottom and they also have a blue paper tag reading Japan. Please send zip with inquiry and I will figure shipping.
